Background
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio on the Westside in an area known
as Valleyview. I studied Music Education at the Ohio State University from
1970-1974. I have been a Band Director at the following schools: Northridge
Local Schools in Alexandria, Ohio; J.R. Tucker High School in Richmond,
Virginia; Lakota Local Schools in Risingsun, Ohio; and currently at Licking
Heights High School in Summit Station, Ohio. I play clarinet in the Heisey
Wind Ensemble, Land of Legend Philharmonic Orchestra, The Pastels Big Band,
and various other local groups. My wife is Terry Blackhurst. My sons are
Tim(20) and Chris(19). The household dog is a Bichon Friese named Allegro.
Interests, Activities & Plans
I love concerts, marching band contests, playing the sax and clarinet.
My future plans are to play more and retire at the earliest age possible.
